Artistic Director - Matt Ward

 

is an International Vocal Coach and graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA). He’s regarded as one of the most sought after vocal coaches in Queensland. As a vocal coach, Matt has the innate ability to diagnose a singer’s weak spots within minutes and provide the necessary "tools" to get fast results. Most students notice results within their first lesson. His clients range from musical theatre professionals to solo recording artists and punk/rock bands. They have been featured on The Voice Australia, Australia's Got Talent and signed to international record labels. They have also featured in musicals such as Cats, Annie, The King and I and Jesus Christ Superstar. As a former Speech Level Singing Instructor, Matt’s teaching career has seen him travel to New York, Los Angeles, London and Sydney where he has worked with and studied under some of the worlds leading vocal coaches including:

 

  • Seth Riggs- Founder of Speech Level Singing and vocal coach to Michael Jackson and hundreds of Grammy winners

  • Dean Kaelin- International vocal coach

  • Dave Stroud-American Idol tour vocal coach and vocal coach to Adam Lambert & Demi Lovato

  • Adrienne Angel- vocal coach to CHER and Bernadette Peters.

 

Since returning to Australia, Matt has starred in the world premiere production of John Michael Howson’s new Australian musical Pyjamas in Paradise, directed by famed choreographer Tony Bartuccio. He has also guest starred in the hysterical comedy, Forbidden Broadway (The Arts Centre Gold Coast), From Asia with Love- The James bond Musical, Rice & Easy (The Other Production Co.) and has performed alongside some of Australia's finest leading identities in the critically acclaimed musical Chess (The Melbourne Production Co.) staged by International award winning director Gale Edwards, at the Melbourne State. 

 

Matt is most notably recognised as the creator and host of Australia’s first live cabaret talk show The Greenroom Project, having won critical acclaim and enjoying sell out seasons across Queensland. Guests have included Australian leading ladies of the stage Marina Prior, Silvie Paladino, Amanda Harrison, Lara Mulcahy, Rachael Beck and the cast of Legally Blonde the Musical.

 

His cabaret and concert credits include: The Baby Grand and Me, Broadway, My Way, One Night Stand, 2 Tenors & a Baby Grand and The Mayors Senior Concerts.
